Aircraft Alloys

Aircraft alloys feature a balanced combination of strength and impact resistance. Heat-treated for high strength, aircraft alloys are shock resistant, making them ideal for heavily stressed machine parts. To maintain purity, the vacuum is arc-remelted.

Super Alloy

Made of iron alloyed with nickel, cobalt, and chromium, superalloys are capable of withstanding very high temperatures. Because of their ability to resist corrosive and oxidizing conditions, superalloys are used in gas turbine and rocket engines, as well as demanding chemical and electrical applications.

Electrical Steel

Electrical steels are alloyed with silicon to impart electro-magnetic properties which are required for transformers, generators, solenoids, and motors. Grain-oriented electrical steel has a parallel grain structure for ease of magnetization. Non-grain-oriented steel has an isotropic structure which is preferred for rotating parts.

Brass/Bronze

As an alloy of copper and zin, brass is ideal for locks, fasteners, pump fittings, and marine propellers as it resists corrosion in seawater. Bronze is an alloy of copper, tin, and zinc. Because it is harder than brass, bronze is well suited for bearings, valves, and chemical applications
